About Brian

As a father of two and a teacher for more than 30 years, and a current SJUSD Trustee I know what students need to prepare themselves for 21st century college and career. I believe in seeking common interests and bringing people together for the good of the community and its children. As a Trustee, I will continue to work to collaborate with my board colleagues along with district management, teachers, and support staff to foster academic and social-emotional growth for all students.

As we work together to prepare 21st century students for a global society using the the 4 Cs - critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity - we must remember to apply the same criteria to our own actions. The key component is including parents and the community in the process as we continue to develop our strategic goals for the district. Only by being open, transparent and inclusive with all stakeholders can we hope to close the achievement gap while maintaining fiscal responsibility and a balanced budget.

I have the knowledge, experience, and dedication needed to continue to move San Jose Unified School District forward and further strengthen public education in our community. To be successful, I need your support and your vote.
